Kenneth Kendzora "Kenny" Fish
47, Newcomerstown, died suddenly on Saturday evening, July 13, 2013 in the emergency room of Coshocton County Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack suffered at his Newcomerstown residence. Kenneth was born in Canton, Ohio on April 7, 1965, and is survived by his mother, Shirley A. Shearer Fish, Newcomerstown. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Kenneth Kendzora, who died in 1990 and his adopted father Stanley L. "Stan" Fish, Newcomerstown, who died in 2012. Kenny was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School, class of 1984, and later took courses to obtain his commercial driver's license and also courses in water and sewer equipment maintenance. For several years, he has been an employee of the Newcomerstown Water Department. Prior to this, he was a truck driver with Hogan Trucking Company, Newcomerstown. While at Hogan, he received a one million miles award for driving with no accidents. Prior to this, he was employed by Fixture Connection, Columbus, in the field of building razing in blighted mall areas. Kenny was a member of the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church and a former member of the Newcomerstown Elks Lodge #1555. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, and working on cars. He was a huge NASCAR fan, especially when cheering his favorite driver in the #18 car, Kyle Busch. In addition to his father and adopted father, Kenny was preceded in death by his stepson, Walter Damian Neighbor II, Newcomerstown, who died in 2011.
In addition to his mother, Kenny is survived by his wife, Toni L. Durben Fish, Newcomerstown, with whom he has shared his life for the past 24 1/2 years. Kenny and Toni were married on March 12, 1994. Also surviving are his daughter, Heather Renee Fish, Newcomerstown, and her companion, Quentin Sharier, Coshocton; his step-daughter-in-law, Christina M. Humphreys, Coshocton; and his granddaughter, Olivia Violet Neighbor, Coshocton. Kenny also leave his father-in-law and his wife, Larry E. and Betty Durben, Brewster and his mother-in-law, Gloria K. McDonald, Coshocton. Kenny will also be missed by his brothers, Kevan and wife, Sheri Fish and Glenn and wife, Corrine Fish, all of Massillon, Dale Fish, Inman, S.C.; twin brothers, Lee Allen and wife, Tonya Fish and Allen Lee and wife, Sharla Fish, all of Newcomerstown; and his sister and her husband, Elizabeth and Mark Mowery, also of Newcomerstown. There are also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Kenny's life will be held on Friday, July 19, 11 a.m. in the Ourant Funeral Home, Rev. Ric Bonice, pastor of the Solid Rock Foursquare Church, Coshocton, will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette. Following the graveside services and burial, family and friends will gather for a luncheon at the Laborers' Local #134 Union Hall, Main and River Street Intersection, Newcomerstown. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Friday morning until the 11 a.m. funeral. A memorial fund has been established for Kenny, in care of Toni L. Fish, Huntington National Bank, 100 West Main Street, Newcomerstown, 43832.
